Introduction
We use
TechSmith's Camtasia Studio to create the majority of our videos. Much
or the stand alone audio is created using Xiosoft's Instant Audio
service. All the audio & video software we use is very strong
so your problems should be minimal. The following information should
solve most of your problems.
Internet Connection
Problems
You need to have a
high-speed Internet connection which usually means DSL or cable. If
you're accessing the Internet via a "Wi-Fi" connection then
the Wi-Fi provider (Starbucks, Kinkos, etc.) needs to have a high-speed
connection.
You can check the speed of
your Internet connection at any one of dozens of Internet web sites. Use
the Google search box in the top right-hand corner of this page and
search for "Internet speed test". Most of the Internet speed tests require that you have the
free Java.com
software installed on your computer.
For best results your
Internet download connection should be at least 700K. You will get this
speed or better with almost any DSL or cable Internet connection. If you
think your Internet access provider is not giving you the download speed
you need call their customer service desk and tell them you're having
trouble watching the Internet videos.
Your Free Video Viewing
Software Version
Most all our videos require
that you have the latest version of some free video viewing software.
Virtually all our videos use Flash or Window Media. If your version of
Flash or Windows Media needs to be upgraded your computer should prompt
you to "click here" to upgrade it automatically. If it doesn't
try one of the following links.

The Video Won't Start or
Pauses in the Middle
It is not unusual for there
to be a 30-second delay before the video starts playing. This delay is
caused by the video needing to open the player and "get ready"
to play. If the video doesn't start playing after 30-seconds or it
pauses while playing, click on the "right-arrow" on the bottom
left hand corner of the video player.
Just Too Hard? Give It
One More Try!
If you've never watched
Internet videos on your computer before - getting your computer setup to
watch Internet videos for the first
time might indeed seem "just too hard".
KEEP TRYING - IT'S WORTH
IT!
Once you get it working it
usually stays working. Just like when TV took over radio - more and more
content producers are going to be distributing some or all their content
via the Internet. Who knows - maybe you'll be distributing your own
videos over the Internet to your personal and business contacts before
you know it.
While we don't really
provide technical assistance - if you've got no one else you can think
to call - me at 951-251-5155 and I'll try to help you.
