Channel Partners Conference & Expo The "Phone+ Show" is currently the biggest and best attended of any "partner show". Held twice a year (Las Vegas in the Spring & one the East coast somewhere every Fall), if you've not been to this show in the past you should definitely plan to attend. Annual Abilita Conference Abilita is a "shared savings franchise" organization with about 40 offices throughout the US & Canada. Many members previously belonged to the Schooley Mitchel organization before forming Abilita. VoiceCon 2009 I went to this show in 2007 and there were scads of exhibitors and enterprise, end-user attendees. The show seemed really packed! I'm not currently planning on attending this year. When I looked at their current exhibitor list on 9/4/9 it seemed pretty lightly filled with only 31 and no wide area network service providers I recognized. November 10

MSPWorld Las Vegas This is one of several shows put on by the MSP ("Managed Service Providers") Alliance, a world-wide organization of 8,000 MSPs. While I've not been to this show in the past, I am planning on attending this show. I first turned on the MSPA when I ran into an old friend I used to work with who's an expert at selling both phone systems & network services. He had moved over to an IT house and reported that the "game was over" in that he now could sell the "triple play" of phone equipment, network service & IT services. When I spoke to the owner of the IT house he said that he was a member of MSPA. It's my humble opinion that MSPs that choose to also sell phone systems & network service will ALWAYS win against sales persons who only sell network service, phone systems or both. Multilocation business customers truly want a single point of contact for these three "problem vendor" areas. I can not more strongly recommend that telecom agents & channel partners become MSPs themselves or partner (or merge) with the best MSPs in their local sales geography. I'm starting by attending this MSPA event and making as many friends as possible. November 13 - 16
Schooley Mitchell Annual Conference 2009 Like Abilita, the Schooley Mitchell organization is a "shared savings franchise" that has offices across the US & Canada. ITEXPO East 2010 Billed by producer TMCnet as "The World's Communications Conference!" This conference has historically been a gathering of those who create, sell & buy Internet telephony hardware & software with a heavy emphasis on call/contact center & unified communications ("UC") solutions. This show switched coasts every six months. The most recent show was ITEXPO West 2009 at the Los Angeles convention center. Click here to see who exhibited at that last show. This show was the 20th ITEXPO in 10 years. I attended all three days of the Fall 2009 show in LA. This was the first ITEXPO I've attended. When I spoke with a few repeat exhibitors, they said the exhibit hall crowd was smaller than previous shows but the quality of the prospects they spoke with was still very high. Many of the attendees I personally spoke with were interested in and looking for wide area network solutions which, no doubt, was why many TA vendor members were there.
