Dealing with MOST of the carriers directly creates a longer sales cycle than is acceptable. The price for the service is usually lower through a master agent with their commission than a direct contract with the carrier.

I prefer to deal with carriers or resellers to maintain better control. Being an agent of a master agent distances us from the process and makes it difficult to inform our customer during order and implementation. Billing is also more complex as well as commission validation and verification.

It is best to go direct to secure your income.

Like working with carriers as sometimes when necessary can go in the switch and either request a service or make a change

It's generally better to work with carriers direct to service customers better.On the other hand with master agents, they will help close a deal and you don't have quota issues

Negotiating the contract directly with the provider is important.

I should have less concerns regarding business failure with carriers and less concern over payments Some carriers have too high quotas - was originally with Qwest directly but had trouble meeting 100k so had to transfer to master

There are agruments for several of the listed master agents, and for many not listed. My selection overall is for Wholesale Carriers Services, due to their unique offering of branded billing and a "blending" of carriers underneath that billing brand to optimize margins. With WCS, the agent has the ability to keep the margin above the WCS profit level, and is incented to sell more profitable business, as it means more net income for me.

Telepacific does an amazing job provisioning our orders. They are willing to do more than any other carrier we deal with, from quotes to paperwork, to direct customer follow up.

Groveline: The reason being is they will work with you on all opportunities as long as revenues can be made. They will think outside the box. This is important for an agent since we come across many opportunities that are not simple solutions. They just get it done!

It would be easier to say who did not do a good job...but that goes to the point of preferring master agents to carriers...I consider Airespring a master agent and not a carrier however. If they are in the carrier category, I will select Airespring.
