AireSpring Selects the McLeodUSA
20-State Network
to Carry AireSpring’s Local Voice Offering
LOS ANGELES, CA &
CEDAR RAPIDS, IA – February 7, 2007 – AireSpring, Inc.
announced today that it has added the McLeodUSA 20-state network to its
national local service footprint to carry local voice services to
AireSpring customers.
“We are excited that AireSpring has chosen the
McLeodUSA network to carry their local voice service,” stated John
Dumbleton, McLeodUSA Group Vice President of Wholesale Services and
Indirect Channels. “As a premiere non-facilities based CLEC, Airespring
will be leveraging the McLeodUSA network which spans 17,000 route miles
across 20 states to carry this traffic to their customers. AireSpring’s
selection of McLeodUSA validates our strategic decision to expand our
wholesale local voice product suite and make our highly reliable network
available to other communication providers.” McLeodUSA, based in Cedar
Rapids, Iowa, is one of the nation’s largest competitive providers of
integrated voice and data communication services.
Daniel Lonstein, COO of AireSpring, believes that the
McLeodUSA network is a key addition to their national local services
footprint. According to Mr. Lonstein, “The McLeodUSA network reaches
nearly 500 cities, including many Tier 2 and Tier 3 markets not
currently served by any other facilities-based CLEC. This significantly
expands the local service coverage we can provide to our corporate
customers with geographically diverse locations, while still delivering
a single, unified bill for multiple networks and a single point of
contact for customer service. Our focus has been to build the nation’s
largest network for local voice services at the T-1/PRI level. We are
not only able to offer our customers significant administrative cost
savings and simplified management, in most cases we are able to offer
substantial rate reductions as well.”
While the relationship primarily focuses on T-1 and
PRI local voice circuits, AireSpring will also offer DS-1 level
dedicated Internet access on the McLeodUSA backbone.
