TA Editor's Review
Avema "Writes the Book" on
Telecom Expense Management (TEM) Solutions for Enterprise Cell Phone Users
Most successful telecom agents rarely create new
services to market. (Mostly because rich pioneers are few and far
between.) I say, "Let the brave and foolhardy blaze the first 100 miles of
the telecom marketing trail with their own dollars (and then give me a
call when you've broken the marketing code.)"
Well when it comes to marketing cell phone TEM
services to enterprise businesses (companies with over 250 cell phones or
over 1,000 employees), it appears that Roger Yang has broken the marketing
code. As he explains:
Commissions and Overall Cell Phone Market
Opportunity
"TEM is a bit different than selling telco
services. Let's take cell phones as an example. Every company with any
need for cell phones already has them. Once in a blue moon, a corporate
customer will change vendors, and an agent can make some money on that.
Otherwise, the cell phone agent is limited to a few new activations here
and there, selling accessories, etc.."
"With managed cell phone services, however, an
agent can sign up a customer with 200, or 2000 phones, that doesn't have
to switch from another supplier. It's all new territory, which means more
sales, and larger sales, which means more commissions."
Agent Differentiation and Access to Larger
Clients
"TEM is a more strategic service, compared to say,
selling T1s, which is more of a commodity. This means that there's an
opportunity to have deeper discussions and a deeper relationship with
customers. It's also something that can be used to get in the door with
larger companies that an agent might not otherwise have a reason to talk
to. "
Follow the Guy Leading the Charge
While some telecom agent program managers seem to
sit in their office and tell agents "go do this" or "go do that", Roger
Yang is says, "Follow me." Click the publication links above to read
what Roger has written about providing cell phone TEM services to
enterprise companies. The copy speaks for itself. If it's working for
Roger it may work for you.
Bottom Line:
What have you got to loose but a couple hours a
day for a couple weeks? Give Roger a call and let him know what you
have in mind with regard to the cell phone TEM opportunity in your area of
influence. Get Roger to ask TA for a free TEM prospect list that
matches the marketing plan you and Roger feel is best suited for your time
and effort. If you're comfortable seeking out and speaking to CFOs
and other enterprise C-level executives then this is a fully supported
opportunity that you should fully explore.
