The Client
The
client company is a large commercial enterprise headquartered in the
Phoenix,
AZ
area providing storage services to primarily the construction market. As a
fast growing $450m (annual sales) the company is experiencing this growth
both internally and through acquisition and currently has over 80 field
offices nationwide.
The Problem
As a
result of its rapid growth and absence of a systematic approach to the
management of its telecommunications expenses the client’s inventory,
invoices and contracts were, in a few words, all messed up. Without a system
or staff with the expertise to monitor and control its invoice auditing,
inventory expansion and contract adherence, the clients spend on telecomm (wireline
voice, data and cellular) was significantly out of line with what it should
have been.
The Solution
An agent
for WTG recognized the severity of this problem and recommended a TEM System
(telecom expense management) application offered by WTG’s portfolio. Within
a very short period of reviewing the TEM System tool and its attendant
services, the client chose to use a WTG TEM service to:
·
build and
reconcile its inventory of wireline voice, data and cellular circuits,
services and devices
·
using TEM
System’s cost analysis software, conduct an audit and comparative analysis
of all of the invoices against contract rates and terms
·
provide
reporting on all of the overpaid and erroneous invoices and inventory
·
make
recommendations for network optimization based on TEM’s ability to create a
clear view and assessment of the current network against alternative
services offering further reductions in spend and improvement in service.
The Bottom Line
As a
result of the work conducted on behalf of the client they have realized a
reduction in current spend and a recovery of prior erroneous invoices of
over $200,000. More importantly the client now has an accurate and current
inventory, invoice, contract and change management system with which it can
proactively manage all of its current telecommunications expenses and
eliminate financial waste and continuously optimize its network.
