Association News - Upgraded name, web site & newsletter

For those of you who have been following our publication efforts since 1995 you know that we adapt and change as our members' information needs adapt and change. In 1995 we started out as "One Plus Agent Association" or OPAA. In 1999 we became "TelecomAgent Association" or TAA. Today we are changing to just "Telecom Association" or "TA".

We're making this change not because we're getting out of the agent business - we're supporting agent information needs now more than ever. We've become just "TA" because our members are more than just agents. Over the past three years our membership has tripled and includes agents, vendors, end-users and a whole bunch of other people who registered for membership so they could read one of our publications.

As just TA we can now serve the information needs of all our members wherever those needs may take us. Our promise to our members though remains the same. We'll publish the best information we can find or produce and all you'll need to do to access 99% of the information is just register for a TA complimentary membership.

New Telecom Agent Website & Newsletter

All the information telecom agents and vendors have been getting from us is all still available. The main website for our telecom agent and vendor members will be www.TelecomAgentNews.com. TelecomAgent News will be the one place you can go and find what you're looking for. We've recreated our username/password database so you'll need to reregister to access any of the password protected content. Please be patient with us as we shake out the bugs.

Our main weekly email newsletter, this one you're reading now, is now titled "TelecomAgent News Week in Review" or "WIR" will still come out every Friday. It will highlight a weeks worth of the best stuff we can find. Anyone who joins TA and subscribes to TelecomAgent News will still automatically be subscribed to all our "Vendor Email Blasts" or "VEBs". As always you can unsubscribe from any or all VEBs by clicking on the "preferences" link found on the bottom of any TA email newsletter you receive. (Click on the preferences link on the bottom of this email newsletter to see what you're subscribed to now.)

Still Two Member Databases

We've still not achieved the economic ability to combine our two databases - the website username/password database and our "Bronto" email newsletter database - so you'll still have to deal with them both. Just remember that when you're trying to access password protected content and you're promoted for a username & password you're interfacing with the website database. When you're clicking on an email newsletter preferences link to edit which email newsletters you do or don't want you're interfacing with the "Bronto" email newsletter database.

Most all TA members first create a TA website database record for themselves when they first hear about TA or TelecomAgent News and try to access one of our password protected content pieces. Once people register in the TA website database we create an appropriate email newsletter database record for them and subscribe them to a default set of email newsletters they can access and edit at any time by clicking on the preference link of any email newsletter they receive from us.

Still Supported By Vendor memberships

And since we still can't figure out how to charge regular members enough money to want to keep creating our agent focused publications we still rely on paid vendor memberships. Since their money floats this boat please continue to consider their products and services when you're looking for a vendor to represent to your customers and clients. If you're a telecom provider that would like to become a TA vendor so our TA members can learn about your products and services please visit www.TAvendor.com or contact TA publisher Dan Baldwin at 951-251-5155 or Dan@TelecomAssociation.com
